IT was announced earlier today that the Canadian produced hit Sci-Fi series Sanctuary, which is currently shooting its second season in Vancouver, B.C., is up for six Constellation Awards, honoring the best in Canadian Science Fiction film and television. These awards are unique to Sci-Fi film and TV as the nominees and winners in all categories are selected by the Canadian viewing public.
This year's Sanctuary nominees are:
Best Female Performance in a Science Fiction Television Episode - Amanda Tapping
Best Male Performance in a Science Fiction Television Episode - Robin Dunne
Best Science Fiction Television Series of 2008 - Sanctuary
Best Technical Accomplishment in a 2008 Science Fiction Film or Television Production - Anthem Visual Effects (for Sanctuary)
Outstanding Canadian Contribution to Science Fiction Film or Television in 2008 (two nominees - Amanda Tapping - actor/producer AND Sanctuary, Canadian production)
