SPOILER ALERT!! - A transient anomaly opens and a deadly flesh-eating fungus emerges. It's the team's most unusual and lethal threat yet. The incredibly aggressive, fast-growing fungus first invades and then kills its human host before reanimating the body to seek out new hosts. Once it "eats" its victim it retains a vaguely human shape, making it both sinister and frighteningly dangerous. When all attempts to destroy the creature fail, the team faces the possibility that it will spread across Great Britain, absorbing everyone it encounters, becoming bigger and more dangerous in the process. Episode five of season three airs on Saturday, June 13th @ 9 p.m. EST/PST on BBC America.

Although there are parasitic organisms such as fungus that, while invading their host, can alter the host's behavior to maximize their changes of reproducing, none at present can reanimate a dead host. Neither can they grow with the speed indicated in the episode. As noted above, all photos copyright of Impossible Pictures, so please no unauthorized copying or duplicating of any form. Thanks!
