AMC announced today the launch of the first ever The Walking Dead motion comic episode on their website, www.amctv.com. The animation is based on the first 13 1/2 pages of the original The Walking Dead comic, created and written by Robert Kirkman and art by Tony Moore. THe episode was produced by AMC Digital, with motion comic production by Juice Films. The Walking Dead series is set to premiere in October 2010 during AMC's Fearfest.
Additional credits on the project include - director - Jake Strider Hughes of Juice Films, who also directing The Watchman motion comic; voice talent- Phil Lamarr, whose credits including Mad TV and Pulp Fiction as well as such animated projects as Family Guy and Futurama; and, original music score - Lennie Moore, an award-winning motion comic and game music composer.
The Walking Dead tells the story of the weeks and months that follow a pandemic zombie apocalypse. County Sheriff Rick Grimes travels with his family and a small group of survivors, constantly in search of a safe and secure home. But the constant pressure of fighting off death on a daily basis takes a heavy toll, sending many to the lowest depths of human cruelty. As Rick struggles to keep his family alive, he will discover that the overwhelming fear of the survivors can be far more dangerous than the mindless walkers roaming the Earth.
