EVERYONE's favorite Czech scientist, Stargate Atlantis' Dr. Radek Zelenka, alias actor David Nykl, dropped me a note to say hello and let me know about a couple of upcoming projects. I thought I'd pass the information on to SciFiAndTvTalk readers.
First off, David is starring in a wonderful short noir comedy film called Voodoo, written and directed by Vancouver filmmaker Mark Ratzlaff. A number of other well-known Vancouver actors appear alongside David, including Camille Sullivan (Shattered, Intelligence), Ali Liebert (Year of the Carnivore), Giles Panton (Flash Gordon) and Eugene Lipinski (Da Vinci's Inquest). The film is narrated by Colm Feore (Thor, 24, The Red Violin) and you can get a sneak peek at - http://www.vimeo.com/13933460
Voodoo will be shown at this year's Vancouver International Film Festival. If you plan to be in town, be sure to check it out. Details at -

Also, the award-winning feature film, The Beast of Bottomless Lake, in which David plays Dr. Paul Moran, will have its first public screening next month at Vancouver's Convention of Science Fiction and Fantasy (VCon). For information about the film, go to - http://www.provostpictures.com/ I'll be posting an official press release on the movie shortly.
And for details about VCon, visit - http://www.vcon.ca/
Keep checking back in with SciFiAndTvTalk for news about other David Nykl-related projects!
As noted above, photo copyright of MGM, so please no unauthorized copying or duplicating of any kind. Thanks!
Thanks for the mention Steve.
We are really looking forward to finally showing the film in Vancouver, where it all began.
VCON should be a lot of fun - we'll really be speaking to our people!
