The critically acclaimed drama, Whitechapel, returns to BBC America’s Dramaville with three distinctive, dark and chilling crime stories. From the producers of Downton Abbey, the new season will find Detective Inspector Joseph Chandler (Rupert Penry-Jones), Detective Sergeant Miles (Phil Davis) and Edward Buchan (Steve Pemberton) spreading their investigations beyond the boundaries of East London’s Whitechapel, as they peel back layers of the East End’s most gruesome history.
In Story One, four people are slaughtered at night in a tailor’s shop near Brick Lane. London’s East End is gripped with fear and panic at this seemingly impossible gruesome crime. The only survivor was out on an errand at the time and the door was firmly locked when she left. When a second set of murders take place, again with no obvious break-in, DI Chandler and his team turn to Buchan for help and together they look into ‘closed room mysteries’. While not a copycat by any means, could the case of the Ratcliffe Highway murders from the 17th Century give them a clue to their killer? Story One - Part One premieres Wednesday, March 28th @ 10:00 p.m. EST/PST, with Part Two airing the following week, April 4th @ 10:00 p.m. EST/PST.
