Canada's Global TV raises temperatures this winter with the debut of its new original drama Remedy. Premiering on Monday, February 24 – 9pm ET/PT, Remedy takes viewers on a heart-pumping adventure through hospital doors previously unopened. With an ‘upstairs/downstairs’ look at downtown Bethune Hospital coupled with a complicated (yet all too relatable) family dynamic at its core, Remedy will win the hearts of medical drama fanatics everywhere.

From creator and showrunner Greg Spottiswood (King), Remedy follows the Conner family. Playing the Acting Chief of Staff and family patriarch Allen Conner is Enrico Colantoni (Flashpoint, Galaxy Quest, Just Shoot Me!). Dillon Casey, (Nikita, The Vow, MVP) stars as the charismatic, med-school dropout turned orderly, and prodigal son Griffin, Sara Canning (The Vampire Diaries, Primeval: New World) plays Melissa, a General Surgeon, with her own set of complex issues and Sarah Allen (Jozi-H, Murdoch Mysteries) plays Sandy, the eldest daughter, ICU Nurse and bride-to-be.
Rounding out the stellar cast are Matt Ward (TRON: Legacy, Charlie St. Cloud) as Sandy’s soon-to-be husband, the razor-sharp ER Doctor, Brian Decker; Genelle Williams (Warehouse 13, Doomstown) as Zoe Rivera, the scrappy, independent PSA who catches Griffin’s eye; Diego Fuentes (How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days) as Bruno Dias, a hard-working orderly and natural caregiver who stands out from his union co-workers; and Patrick McKenna (Hard Rock Medical, The Red Green Show) as Frank Kanaskie, working in the basement of the hospital, as Griff’s Supervisor in charge of Transport and Housekeeping. Award-winning actress and co-founder of Soulpepper Theatre in Toronto, Martha Burns (Slings and Arrows, Michael: Tuesdays and Thursdays) joins the cast as Rebecca Baker, the absentee mom, high functioning family drunk and power attorney.
Big screen, small screen, centre-stage and behind the camera, Enrico Colantoni’s brimming list of credits continues to grow as he makes his TV directorial debut this season. Plus, viewers can look forward to notable guest appearances from Canada’s Walk of Fame inductee and ballet superstar Sonia Rodriguez, Joel Keller (Blue Murder) and Ted Dykstra (Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood).

In the season two premiere of Vikings, the battle begins between Ragnar (Travis Fimmel) and King Horik’s (Donal Logue) forces against Jarl Borg (Thorbjorn Harr). Borg is joined by Rollo (Clive Standen), and this Viking clash pits brother against brother. There can only be one victor. Meanwhile, Princess Aslaug (Alyssa Sutherland) makes her way to Kattegat and brings with her a surprise that leaves Ragnar in a difficult predicament. 35 years later, fans are still “screaming” in space as Twentieth Century Fox Consumer Products celebrates the 35th anniversary of the ground-breaking film Alien, one of the most enduring sci-fi horror franchises of all time, with multiple iconic partners for exclusive branded merchandise available worldwide.
National Entertainment Collectibles Association (NECA), an entertainment conglomerate and global leader in licensed consumer goods, in association with Fox Consumer Products, announces today the first-ever action figures of Lieutenant Ellen Ripley that feature the likeness of actress Sigourney Weaver, who was nominated for an Oscar® and Golden Globe® for Aliens in 1987. The officially licensed Ripley action figures from NECA will span multiple movies within the Alien saga: initial plans include a figure of Ripley in her Nostromo jumpsuit from the original 1979 film, to be followed later by a Ripley figure based on the 1986 movie Aliens, directed by James Cameron.
