Veteran feature film and TV director David Winning, who has worked on a number of TV genre shows including Earth: Final Conflict, Gene Roddenberry's Andromeda, Stargate Atlantis, Blood Ties, Lost Girl and Todd and the Book of Pure Evil, recently completed work on his latest project, as announced in the August 1st, 2014, DGC (Directors Guild of Canada) e-bulletin, which stated:
"Congratulations! Director Member David Winning wrapped his seventeenth feature July 26th. Paper Angels starring Josie Bissett (Melrose Place) and Matthew Settle (Gossip Girl) finished principal photography in Langley and Maple Ridge (British Columbia) early Saturday morning.
Produced by Tim Johnson, Maura Dunbar, and Oliver De Caigny for the UP TV Network, the feel-good Christmas movie is an adaptation of the Jimmy Wayne song and novel about the Salvation Army’s Paper Angel Christmas Tree Program for needy children during the holidays. It will air in December along with Winning’s other Vancouver Christmas movie for UP this year The Tree That Saved Christmas starring Lacey Chabert. Also upcoming for release later this year from the busy director is Mutant World for Sony and Syfy, a post-apocalyptic thriller starring Kim Coates and Ashanti."
