The wait is over. The highly-anticipated third and final season of chilling drama Broadchurch debuts Sunday, March 5 at 10 p.m. ET/PT exclusively on Canada's Showcase Network. The series picks up three years after the fallout of Danny Latimer’s murder, as Detective Inspector Alec Hardy (David Tennant) and Detective Sergeant Ellie Miller (Olivia Colman) investigate a serious sexual assault in the Dorset community. Viewers can catch up on Broadchurch following the broadcast the next day on showcase.ca.
In the premiere episode, Hardy and Ellie are called out to attend to Trish Winterman (Julie Hesmondhaigh), a woman who has reported a serious sexual assault. After a clue found at the victim’s house leads to the crime scene, the forensics report confirms Hardy and Ellie’s earlier suspicions – it was not an opportunistic attack, it was planned. Hardy concludes that they have a serious sexual predator at large in the town – someone who may strike again.
The series also stars Jodie Whittaker, Andrew Buchan, Sarah Parish, Lenny Henry, Mark Bazeley, Georgina Campbell, Charlie Higson and Roy Hudd.
