David Rysdahl has been cast in Kate Dolan’s SOULM8TE as a man who acquires an Artificially Intelligent android to help him cope with the recent loss of his deceased wife. He joins Lily Sullivan, who was recently announced. The film is in the tradition of the 90s domestic thrillers but with a modern, technological twist.
David is a dynamic actor, writer, and producer. He can currently be seen starring opposite Juno Temple, Jon Hamm & Jennifer Jason Leigh in Season 5 of Noah Hawley’s Fargo on FX/Hulu. Last year he was featured in Oppenheimer as well as the Black Mirror season six episode, Mazey Day. Additionally, the actor can be seen starring in Hulu’s 2022 feature No Exit opposite Danny Ramirez and Havana Liu. He will next be seen in Noah Hawley’s Alien prequel series for FX. In 2020, David was featured in the Sundance breakout Nine Days where he starred opposite Winston Duke, Zazie Beetz, Benedict Wong, and Bill Skarsgard. he starred in Cathy Yan’s dark comedy Dead Pigs opposite Mason Lee and Zazie Beetz, which premiered Sundance in 2019. The actor also starred in Patrick Letterii’s independent feature The Land of Owls, and in the Netflix documentary miniseries The Family. He has guest starred on CBS’s Bull and can be seen in the independent feature Revival.
Kate Dolan (You Are Not My Mother) will direct the film. Dolan rewrote an original draft written by Rafael Jordan (Salvage Marines), with the story by James Wan, Ingrid Bisu and Jordan. James Wan and Jason Blum will produce SOULM8TE. Michael Clear and Judson Scott, of Wan’s Atomic Monster banner, will executive produce, along with Ingrid Bisu. Alayna Glasthal is the executive overseeing the project for Atomic Monster.
