Ghost Hunters And Destination Truth Return To Syfy In March

THIS March, The Syfy Channel's winning reality duo, Ghost Hunters and Destination Truth will return with all new episodes! First, on Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010 @ 9:oo p.m. EST, celebrate a milestone as America's favorite paranormal investigators, the Ghost Hunters, kick off their triumphant sixth season with episode 100! For this epic investigation, Jason Hawes, Grant Wilson and the rest of the team - plus guest investigators Barry FitzGerald and Dustin Pari from Ghost Hunters International - will take on their biggest case yet: Alcatraz, the former military prison known world-wide for the countless claims of paranormal activity witnessed within its walls.

The Alcatraz case will be presented on March 3rd with a LIVE, 2-hour interactive fan event hosted by Destination Truth's Josh Gates.

Josh will then return on Wednesday, March 17th, 2010 @ 10 p.m. EST with a thrilling new slate of adrenaline-fueled adventures on Destination Truth. The new episodes kick off with a St. Patrick's Day theme as the crew heads to Ireland in search of the legendary leprechaun. From there, Josh and crew will travel to the U.S., Jordan, Israel, China, New Zealand and Chile, seeking answers to the world's greatest mysteries and myths. The new episodes will also feature guest investigators Kris Williams (Ghost Hunters) and Allison Scagliotti (Warehouse 13).

Ghost Hunters International Returns To Syfy In January

THE Syfy Channel rings in New Year's with the return of the hit reality series, Ghost Hunters International (GHI), premiering on Wednesday, January 6th, 2010 @ 9 p.m. EST/PST. The seven hour-long episodes will have the GHI team traveling to a different international country each week in pursuit of the truth behind bizarre supernatural claims. These real-life "ghost-busters" will globe trot to such locations as Argentina, Australia, Tasmania, Jamaica , Costa Rica and Malaysia.

In the premiere episode entitled Hitler's Ghost, the GHI team ventures to Miramar, Argentina and sets its sights on the Gran Hotel Viena, once the secret residence of many Nazi war criminals including rumored guest, Adolf Hitler. The hunt is on as GHI tries to debunk claims that the hotel is actually haunted by Hitler himself.

Like their U.S. counterpart, TAPS (The Atlantic Paranormal Society), GHI is a squad made up of everyday ordinary citizens who investigate and attempt to debunk claims of otherworldly activity. A spin-off of Syfy's popular Ghost Hunters series, GHI has continued to cement the Ghost Hunters brand as the top paranormal franchise in cable since its January 2008 debut. The GHI team includes Robb Demarest, Dustin Pari, Barry FitzGerald, Brandy Green, Joe Chin, Ashley Godwin and GHI newcomer, Paul Bradford.

ON the fifth season finale of Ghost Hunters, Hindenburg Crash Site, TAPS travels to the site of one of history's most infamous disasters. Meanwhile, on Final Exams, the season one finale of Ghost Hunters Academy, audiences will find out which of the fledging ghost hunters receives a passing grade. Hindenburg Crash Site airs Wednesday, December 16th @ 9 p.m. EST, followed by Final Exams @ 10 p.m. EST, on The Syfy Channel.

This Week on Ghost Hunters - 12 - 02 - 09

Until the death of their 24-year-old daughter Susy, the family lived in the beautiful, ornate Victorian-style home. But now there is a new set of tenants in town, and someone, or something, might not be ready to leave. Rumor has it that soft, faint whispers can be heard in the halls, along with child-like giggles in the nursery. Employees have also witnessed full-bodied apparitions roaming the floors, and mysterious, shadowy figures have been spotted in the windows after hours. The paranormal activity shows no sign of letting up when the TAPS team arrives, and throughout the investigation, the gang experiences one of their most eventful evenings yet! This week, the team tackles the haunted graveside of the legendary Buffalo Bill. Violent, invisible forces are believed to haunt the area. The mysterious specter of a cowboy has been spotted in the neighboring museum, and spooky whispers echo throughout the building's empty halls. Could TAPS have a close encounter with our nation's greatest showman, or will they run into more hostile spirits. Later in the episode, residents of Oakland Hall in Eaton, Georgia are scared senseless. For the past three years, a strange spirit has haunted the home, causing visitors to feel nauseated and sick. TAPS heads in to investigate. Built in the early 1800s, Oakland Hall survived General Sherman's famous "March to the Sea." Today, the ghost of a mentally ill child is believed to haunt the premises. Electronics turn on and off, and apparitions have been spotted on the grounds. Watch as TAPS solves the mystery of the haunted hall. Built in 1888, Briarhurst Manor is one of the oldest buildings in Colorado. Today, the home is a hotbed of paranormal activity, ranking in the Top 3 of the Great American Ghost Hunt. The shocking specter of a skeleton-like woman is claimed to haunt the premises. Shadow people and bizarre voices have scared employees senseless. The flickering apparition of a small child has both charmed and frightened visitors. Will TAPS conquer this mountain of terror? Tune in to find out! This Week On Destination Truth - 10 - 21 - 09

Photo copyright of The Syfy Channel"][/caption] Destination Truth heads into the rugged mountains of Peru to investigate claims that the Incan ruins there are haunted. Shrouded in the Andes mountains, the Incan city disappeared half a millennia ago. The residents reportedly buried their gold in the tunnels underneath the city and committed suicide before the Spanish conquistadors could invade. Today, local farmers claim that their animals react violently when passing by the ruins. Josh and his team are the first to visit the region with a camera crew and stay overnight. Midway up the trail, the team's horses start to panic inexplicably; the locals will go no further and take their animals back down with them, leaving Josh and company to continue on their own. The investigation yields such compelling audio and visual evidence that Josh calls on expert analysts Steve Gonsalves and Dave Tango from Ghost Hunters to determine whether the Lost City is still inhabited with spirits. The team then travels to Alaska, where locals claim a giant winged bird is terrorizing their community. A nocturnal creature said to be part bird, part reptile, the "Thunderbird," has recently been sighted soaring over the Alaskan landscape by local pilots. Josh and crew set out for a sub-zero exploration of the Arctic terrain. Haunted Lost City/Thunderbird airs Wednesday, October 21st @ 10 p.m. EST. Ghost Hunters Academy Comes To Syfy

Building upon the enormous success of Ghost Hunters and Ghost Hunters International, the Syfy Channel is launching Ghost Hunters Academy, which premieres Wednesday, November 11th @ 10 p.m. EST/PST. Kicking off with an investigation at Fort Mifflin, Pennsylvania, Ghost Hunters Academy features a group of aspiring ghost hunters exploring some of the most haunted locations in the country and around the world. Led by veteran ghost hunters, Steve Gonsalves and Dave Tango, the students train, hands on, in the paranormal arts. The new recruits venture outside conventional classroom walls, tackling new paranormal hotspots as well as favorite old haunts from Ghost Hunters including Fort Mifflin (Pennsylvania), Eastern State Penitentiary (Pennsylvania) and St. Augustine Lighthouse (Florida).
